MIREN ARZALLUZ Moda con historia • They say that what’s bred in the bone will come out in flesh, and Miren Arzalluz is the best example of this. As firm in her national identity as she is in her interest for other cultures, this purebred Basque has based her approach to fashion communication on her background in History and Political Science and the value of multiculturalism that her father instilled in her since she was a child. The new director of the Palais Galliera, one of the most veteran and renowned fashion museums in the world, takes stock of her four years at the helm of this institution and the path that has led her there.

INES DE LA FRESSANGE • Ines de la Fressange (France, 1957) is and feels beautiful – meaning, her beauty is something people can feel warmly. This legendary model, style icon, fashion designer, illustrator and, last but not least, Roger Vivier ambassador started her career back in the 70s, when fashion was far from the peak it has reached today in terms of press coverage, popularity, desirability and, needless to say, size and profit. Born and raised in the countryside, she was tough enough not to be overwhelmed by the already frenzied routine of castings, catwalks and flights she had to deal with when she moved to Paris and struggled to make a place for herself in the fashion industry.

Under the Sign of the T • Tiffany & Co., the unmistakable symbol of unity (with ourselves and with others), elevates the initial of its name to a new category as the absolute protagonist of one of its most recent collections, in which the strength of geometry and feminine energy embrace each other until they become a single element.

Sweet MORNING

ERNESTO ALTERIO • Ernesto Alterio is much more than an actor. The artist has more than 25 years of acting behind him, but this time he welcomes us to his workshop with the Alter-io (or the other me) that he manifests through his paintings. The works of art are full of color and textures that intermingle to recreate the actor’s dreams, with 3D shapes that stand out, almost as if they came to life, and with characters as well known as the R2D2, or Iñaki Miramón.

A goddess among mortals • Two months after its release, Maya Beiser finds it hard to take stock of her latest album’s journey. “I go so deep into each project, I put so much of my being into it, that when I let it out I try to turn over a new leaf. But I’m happy, I think I’ve succeeded,” she explains from the other end of the phone. The goal achieved by the 57-year-old cellist, considered one of the goddesses of the instrument, was none other than to pay tribute to another legend, Phillip Glass, with a new re-reading of his most beautiful works. “I wanted people to be able to see what I see in his music,” adds the Israeli, owner of a life story as multifaceted as her music. The album, Maya Beiser x Phillip Glass, is another example of the transgressive, nonconformist, and always virtuous character of a rock star in content and form that, as it happens, plays the cello.

From Pharmacy to Empire • If Arinobu (Yushin) Fukuhara, founder of Shiseido, a three-character compound meaning “the house that contributes to improving the quality of life”, were to look up and see what has become of the small pharmacy he founded in 1872 in the Ginza district of...
